STORY OF CHANGE
Siblings supporting each other - understanding the other’s perspective
‘I never understood why my sister needed to come and join the sessions, she was always reserved and making mistakes during the game’, says Alex.
Alex would often criticise her mistakes and hesitated to involve her in his team. He believed that his sister didn't belong with the group.
Over the the course of the Life skills education program, he began to see her perspective, her challenges and aspirations. This helped him build a bond with her.

He now encourages his sister to play, guides her when she makes mistakes, and even welcomes her to join his team. This shift has not only strengthened their bond but has also improved their teamwork.

In Gudalur, our focus is on enabling tribal youth
The tribal communities of Gudalur have faced land loss, disrupted livelihoods, and limited access to education due to historical marginalization. As a result, many struggle with unemployment, substance abuse, and a loss of confidence in their identity and future opportunities.
Our goal is to enable these youth to have access to 3 things:
-
The skills to understand their own
communities and the world around them.
-
Opportunities to build confidence and identity.
-
Mentorship and support to guide their growth.

In Chennai, we work closely with local fishing communities
Adolescents from these under-resourced communities often face early marriage, school dropouts, limited opportunities, and deep-rooted inequalities. Without supportive structures, they struggle to build the skills and confidence needed to imagine and pursue better futures.
Our goal is to enable these youth to have access to 3 things:
-
Build Critical thinking skills
-
Opportunities to break gender barriers
-
Mentorship and support to guide their growth.
